Senior Farm Hand - Mixed Livestock | Albury Region, NSW
We are seeking a dedicated, honest, and highly capable Senior Farm Hand to serve as the key boots-on-the-ground presence across a newly acquired 1,800-acre pastoral block situated just 30 minutes outside of Albury near Lake Hume. You will be responsible for developing and implementing infrastructure and pastures under the guidance of the owner over the coming future.
In this pivotal, autonomous role, you will manage day-to-day livestock routines involving:
Sheep:
2,500 Merino ewes joined to White Suffolk rams.
Cattle:
100 Angus cows and calves (split calving)
Handling & Mustering:
Side-by-sides are used for mustering, supported by working dogs.
Operating as the primary eyes and ears in office, you will work in direct partnership with supportive and hands-on business owners based in Finley (home to their established Wattle Park White Suffolk stud and cropping enterprise). Occasionally, travel between both properties will be required.
While contractors are engaged for major operations like shearing and lamb marking, your primary responsibilities include:
Fencing, general property maintenance, and spraying.
Infrastructure upgrades, including the upcoming construction of a new set of sheep yards.

Proven stock sense across both sheep and cattle, with working dogs capable of efficient stock movements.

Autonomy & Integrity:
Self-motivated mindset to carry out daily tasks without constant direct supervision, maintaining clear, honest communication with off-site owners.
