AE Gibson & Sons is a fifth-generation Australian family-owned engineering business based in Kendall on the NSW Mid North Coast.
For more than 100 years, we have designed, manufactured, installed and maintained industrial machinery and equipment for customers across Australia and New Zealand.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking for an experienced
Boilermaker / Fabricator
to join our workshop team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on and varied position working on the manufacture of custom industrial machinery, conveyors, material handling equipment and structural components.
Unlike repetitive production fabrication, our workshop delivers a diverse range of engineered projects, giving you the opportunity to work from drawings through fabrication, assembly and, where required, installation onsite.
Your responsibilities will include:
Fabrication and welding of custom machinery, equipment and structural components
Measuring, marking out, cutting, fitting and assembling components
Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings
MIG/TIG welding, grinding and finishing
Working primarily with carbon steel, with stainless steel and other materials as required
Machinery and equipment assembly
Working closely with fitters, machinists, engineers and electricians
Identifying and communicating fabrication or drawing issues
Maintaining a high standard of workmanship,
safety and workshop housekeeping
Assisting with site installation, shutdown and maintenance work when required
About You
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their trade and enjoys working on varied engineering projects.
Ideally, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Fabricator or equivalent
Proven fabrication and welding experience
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good measuring, marking out, fitting and fabrication skills
MIG/TIG welding experience
A solid focus on quality and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A reliable, practical and safety-focused approach to work
Experience with
industrial machinery, conveyors, structural fabrication or heavy engineering
would be highly regarded.
Forklift, EWP, dogging/rigging and other relevant High Risk Work licences are advantageous but not essential.
