We are seeking a
Registered Nurse
to join Golden Star Care Pty Ltd in a
casual
capacity. This role offers the flexibility to work on an as-needed basis whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. As a Registered Nurse, you will be at the heart of our community health services, providing compassionate, professional care and support to individuals and families across a diverse range of healthcare needs. This position is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality nursing care within community settings, ensuring our clients receive the best possible health outcomes and support.
Key responsibilities
Deliver direct nursing care to clients in community settings, including health assessments, wound care, medication management and health monitoring
Provide evidence-based health promotion and education to clients and families to support their health and wellbeing
Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans tailored to individual client needs and circumstances
Maintain accurate and timely client records and documentation in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, families and carers, to ensure holistic and coordinated care delivery
Respond to client health concerns and provide emergency first aid or clinical intervention as appropriate
Adhere to infection control protocols, health and safety standards, and professional nursing codes of conduct
Communicate effectively with clients, families and team members in a professional and empathetic manner
Clinical oversight and support worker training
Plan, delegate, supervise and document care delivered by Enrolled Nurses and support workers, consistent with their scope of practice
Train and assess support workers in high-intensity supports, including subcutaneous injections and diabetes management, in line with the NDIS Practice Standards skills descriptors
Provide clinical advice to support workers, and attend to escalated clinical concerns
What we're looking for




Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), with no conditions, undertakings or notations restricting your practice
At least one year of supervised post-registration practice.
Demonstrated competency in medication management, including subcutaneous insulin administration
A current Basic Life Support certification, or First Aid and CPR
Completed infection prevention and control training
An NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance. This clearance is also accepted for aged care and DVA community nursing.
A Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee)
A completion certificate for the NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety and You"
A current full Australian driver licence, plus a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
Proof of your right to work in Australia, and 100 points of identification
Two professional referees, including at least one recent clinical supervisor
Key selection criteria
Demonstrated experience in community nursing, aged care, disability or chronic disease management
Sound knowledge of diabetes management, including insulin types, dose calculation and hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia management
Strong clinical assessment, care planning and documentation skills
An understanding of delegation and supervision under the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice
The ability to work autonomously in community settings and make sound clinical judgements
Excellent communication skills, with a person-centred, culturally safe approach to care
A commitment to safeguarding and to client rights, choice and control
