Mt Derrimut Golf and Community Club is a Craig Parry designed, 18-hole, Par 72 Championship Golf Course situated 15km west of Melbourne's CBD. The course and clubhouse compliment the site's historic character, incorporating the original farm homestead built in **** and retaining several of the site's original buildings.
We are currently seeking a passionate, personable, and experienced Golf Professional to become a highly visible and welcoming face of the Club andto lead and develop our Golf Operations.
This is a pivotal role focused on delivering an excellent experience for members, green fee players and visitors, strengthening customer relationships, and continuing to elevate Mt Derrimut's overall golf offering.
The Club's priority is to identify the right person for the role. The successful candidate may be engaged as an employee, an independent contractor or self-employed professional, or through a hybrid model.
The final engagement model will be developed with the successful candidate and tailored to their skills, experience and preferred working arrangements, together with the operational and commercial needs of the Club.
Key responsibilities
Be a welcoming, visible and professional front-of-house presence for members, green fee players and visitors
Deliver consistently high standards of customer service and relationship management
Oversee all aspects of Golf Operations
Manage Golf Retail Operations, merchandising and inventory
Drive green fee, membership engagement and corporate golf opportunities
Coordinate and deliver member-related golf events, in collaboration with the Match Committee
Coordinate and deliver club-hosted golf events
Lead, develop and support the Golf Shop team
Identify opportunities to increase participation, revenue and engagement across all areas of golf
Collaborate with the General Manager to support the Club's operational and financial performance
Maintain high standards of presentation, professionalism and responsiveness across Golf Operations
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to think beyond Golf Operations and contribute to the broader Club precinct thinking
Demonstrates a deep understanding of the Club's strategic priorities and purpose, proactively translating strategy into meaningful actions and outcomes throughout Golf Operations and the Club environment
Key Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should demonstrate:
Proven experience in a golf professional, golf operations or golf management environment
Excellent people skills and a professional, approachable manner
A robust customer service focus, particularly in supporting members and green fee players
The ability to build positive relationships and enhance the overall Club experience
Proficiency with MiClub Golf Systems
In-depth knowledge of the Rules of Golf
Strong understanding of club and golf management environments
Proven experience in team leadership and staff development

Mt Derrimut Golf and Community Club recognises that experienced golf professionals bring different strengths and preferred operating models. The Club's immediate priority is to appoint the right person to deliver an outstanding member and visitor experience.
Once the preferred candidate has been identified, the Club will work with that person to determine the engagement structure best suited to both the candidate and the Club. This may be an employment, independent contractor or self-employed arrangement, or an appropriately structured hybrid model.
A hybrid structure may provide scope for the successful candidate to retain or develop their own professional services while working in partnership with the Club across golf operations, retail, member services and customer engagement.
The Club is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate who combine excellent interpersonal skills and front-of-house capability with the initiative and commercial awareness required to develop a successful golf operation.
