Work's Compensation Team Leader – 12‐month FTC
Join DXC Technology's Insurance Software and BPS (ISB) to modernize core operations for insurers worldwide. As a Team Leader, you will manage a dedicated claims team within the state, leading day‐to‐day operations, coaching, and ensuring compliance while fostering a culture of customer service and teamwork for the Woolworths account.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
– Lead and manage a claims team, ensuring high performance and continuous development, coach and mentor team members, cultivate a collaborative environment, and support engagement and growth.
Claims Management
– Understand self‐insurance and business requirements for effective case management, provide expert technical support, oversee end‐to‐end processing of workers' compensation claims, ensure compliance with regulations, and align claim decisions with legislation and policies.
Customer Service
– Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and queries, foster a customer‐focused culture, treat injured workers and employers with respect and empathy, and guide case managers in challenging stakeholder interactions.
Risk and Compliance
– Maintain strict compliance with workers' compensation legislation and self‐insurance requirements, keep up‐to‐date with regulatory changes, communicate updates effectively, identify potential risks, and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
Teamwork & Coaching
– Contribute to a supportive environment, share expertise through training and coaching,
lead team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives, and drive team development.
Skills and Qualifications
Education
– Territory or relevant qualification in a health or related field (highly desirable).
Experience
– Demonstrated experience leading teams within self‐insured workers' compensation schemes or similar environments; proven expertise in managing workers' compensation claims under self‐insurance frameworks; strong case management experience; ability to drive successful claim outcomes while balancing cost control and wellbeing; ability to thrive in a challenging, dynamic role requiring adaptability to regulatory changes.
Skills
– Excellent problem‐solving, negotiation, and decision‐making; adaptability to change; strong knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and injury treatment processes; conflict resolution and communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency with claims management IT systems and relevant applications.
