As Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Technical Lead, you'll take on a dynamic, hands‐on role across the public land estate, leading and mentoring your crew while maintaining the roads, recreation areas and fire infrastructure that keep our region running.
You'll also be right at the front line of fire and other emergencies, leading preparedness, response and recovery efforts, with opportunities to deploy across Victoria and work alongside some of the best in the business. If you're technically skilled, community‐minded and ready to lead from the front, this is your chance to do varied, rewarding work you can be genuinely proud of — based out of the picturesque Erica depot in Gippsland, surrounded by a close‐knit, supportive team.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in bushfire response or forest operations is highly desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience and understanding in natural resource management, preferably with good knowledge of forest management and forest operations
This position is ongoing, available in the regional location of Parkers Corner or Erica, Victoria.

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre‐employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form, a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and meet the medical and fitness requirements outlined in the position description.
Successful applicants will be required to successfully complete the DEECA General Firefighter accreditation.
To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period. Appointment to an ongoing position is only available to an Australian/New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
