We are looking for engaged and proactive lifeguards to oversee the seasonal operation of our outdoor pools. Our outdoor pool season will last until the 31st of March ****.
About the role:
Darebin is committed to supporting our community to be safe around water. In this position you will oversee the aquatic environment and ensure there is a high regard for risk mitigation and safety. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the wellbeing of our patrons, and an ability to remain vigilant in a repetitive work environment.
You will
Supervise the pools and ensure patrons safety
Provide patrons advice and guidance on safe use of the facility
Display an alert, attentive and professional manner at all times
Respond and deal appropriately with conflict and complaints
This role will require regular work outdoors
Previous industry experience desired
About you:
Display an alert, attentive, pleasant and professional manner at all times
Maintain constant supervision of all pools, action rescues and emergency interventions in accordance with the Centre's rules/polices, and RLSSA Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation
Ensure that the highest safety standards are always maintained and eliminate hazards and risks where possible
Constant scanning of the pool areas, including the Spa, Sauna and Steam Room




Educate patrons on pool safety awareness and child supervision requirements (Watch Around Water).
Ensure that rules and policies set out by the Centre are adhered to by clientele (in doing so ensure that high customer service skills are maintained throughout the course of action)
Ensure that all incidents, accidents or any other reports are properly dealt with, documented and passed onto the relevant Duty Manager and Team Leader
Current Pool Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR qualifications, and a current Working with Children Check.
