About the Role
The Health and Wellbeing Advisor plays a key role in supporting employees through injury management and rehabilitation processes, ensuring safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes. The role works closely with employees, medical practitioners, supervisors, and management to coordinate case management plans, provide injury management advice, and ensure compliance with relevant workers' compensation and self-insurance requirements. With a strong focus on health, safety, and wellbeing, the position also contributes to injury prevention initiatives, incident investigations, and the promotion of a positive workplace health culture.
Role Responsibilities
The Health and Wellbeing Advisor is responsible for coordinating injury management and return-to-work programs for employees recovering from work-related or non-work-related injuries or illnesses. Key responsibilities include developing and monitoring return-to-work plans, liaising with employees, medical practitioners and leaders, providing advice on injury management obligations, maintaining accurate case records, supporting incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with workers' compensation and self-insurance requirements. The role also contributes to health and wellbeing initiatives, promotes injury prevention, and supports a positive safety culture across the business.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings:
Accredited or eligible to become a Return-to-Work Coordinator.
Has solid knowledge of injury management, rehabilitation, return-to-work practices, and relevant workers' compensation legislation.
Builds positive relationships with employees, leaders, medical practitioners,
and external stakeholders to achieve successful return-to-work outcomes.
Demonstrates excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and support others through complex situations.
Is passionate about health, safety, and wellbeing, with a commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Holds qualifications in Allied Health, such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, or Exercise Physiology
Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with employees, medical providers, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities effectively.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and achieving positive return-to-work outcomes.
