About the role
The primary functions of AEMO's Market Management group are to ensure market participants adhere to the National Electricity Rules and National Gas Rules (Rules), monitor prudential positions of all market participants in the east coast gas markets and National Electricity Market, and ensure the timely settlement of each of the markets in line with the relevant Rules.
AEMO's Market Management group is seeking a Support Analyst to join the Prudentials team.
Under supervision, you will engage in learning core functions of the organisation, team and fundamental operational responsibilities. You will build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, provide high-quality support and respond to market participant queries.
This is both a great learning opportunity and the opportunity to apply your analytical skills to assist execution of operational processes in compliance with relevant regulations, rules and procedures.
This role can be based in multiple locations.
What you will be doing
Support execution of operational functions in compliance with rules, regulations and procedures within defined deadlines.
Monitor, identify and escalation compliance or technical issues to the Manager.
Assist in identifying, assessing and reporting operational and technical risks, and support the implementation of effective solutions and controls.




Assist in the identification and analysis of changes to processes and/or systems which contribute to process enhancements.
Undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis under direction to assist decision making or support projects and activities.
What you will bring to the role
Communication and connection will be key, as you will be supporting collaboration with a range of internal stakeholders and industry participants regarding prudentials and rule-based queries.
You will bring:
Degree in economics, computing, commerce, engineering, science or a related discipline.
Experience in a commercial or regulatory environment in analytical, compliance-oriented roles.
A demonstrable passion for the Energy sector and alignment with AEMO's mission to move Australia to a renewable energy future.
Experience with Excel, SQL, Power BI or similar analytical tools would also be advantageous.
You will be a confident communicator and a proactive learner who has a commitment to operational excellence and a passion for collaborative problem solving and contributing to a supportive and high performing team.
