About the job
The Senior Policy Analyst is responsible for leading the research and development of policy advice on key issues relating to youth mental health and the need for early intervention.
Reporting to the Head of Policy you will:
Research, analyse and develop high-quality policy advice, briefs, reports and other written materials to support evidence-based decision-making.
Investigate policy issues, sector trends and qualitative/quantitative evidence to inform policy development and reform recommendations.
Prepare and present policy findings and projects to internal teams, government departments, stakeholders and other external audiences.
Build and maintain strong relationships with policy experts, stakeholders and young people, ensuring diverse perspectives are incorporated into policy development.
Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team by supporting projects, events and initiatives, while delivering work on time and promoting a safe, inclusive workplace culture.
Skills and experience
The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
Understanding of government policy development and implementation, with the ability to apply evidence-based approaches to policy issues.
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting data to inform recommendations.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively across teams and with external partners.
Advanced written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, briefs, submissions and other policy documents.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, adapt to changing circumstances, and deliver high-quality outcomes while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Perks
Salary between $115,000 - $120,000 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 12% superannuation and access to NFP salary packaging.

This is part time to full time (0.8 to 1.0 FTE) position contracted for 12 months.
