Team Manager, Child Protection After Hours Service, Mallee Area (Mildura) We are seeking a proactive and resilient Team Manager to join our After Hours program on a ongoing, full-time rostered basis and make a real difference in the lives of children, young people and families. This position will be based in Mildura. The After-Hours program operates on a structured, rostered model and provides response and emergency outreach visits as required to all child protection matters that are received outside core business hours; at night, on weekends and on public holidays. This role attracts excellent penalty rates and allowances. In this role you will join a passionate team that shares your commitment to keeping children safe and families connected. You will be responsible for effective service delivery which will involve managing a small team of Child Protection Practitioners, allocation of cases, resource and budget management. You will have the formal delegation to endorse and review case plans to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people and to promote the achievement of case plan objectives within specified timeframes. The position will work collaboratively with the Senior Child Protection Practitioners to help strengthen case practice and to support the development of practitioners to ensure effective service delivery.
Key responsibilities
leading planning, review and management of their own and team members' case work
reviewing team documents including case plans and assessments, ensuring reporting obligations are met
establishing and maintaining strong relationships with their team, colleagues and other stakeholders
creating an workplace that allows for proactive and shared problem solving,
supporting the team to use their strengths to resolve issues
encouraging a learning environment for team members, promoting the need for gaining new knowledge, insights and skills

Commencement Salary of $128,635 to $140,849 per annum (plus superannuation)

Skills and experience required
Preferred candidates will have a social work, welfare, psychology related qualification and/or relevant experience. Read more about our qualification requirements

A valid driver's license (learner's permit not acceptable)
Hold or obtain a Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
