Lx Recruitment
New South Wales
If you're an experienced Site Manager, or a commercial Foreman ready to take the next step, I'd like to have a chat.
I'm working with an established builder looking for a Site Manager to join their Central Coast team. Their projects typically range from $5m–$20m, with a healthy pipeline of commercial new builds, refurbishments and fit-outs across the region.
There's a varied mix of work ahead, including early learning facilities, education and hospitality projects a good prospect for someone who enjoys the construction process as much as getting the finishing details right.
They're looking for someone who knows how to run a site, gets the best out of their trades and takes pride in delivering a good job.
The role
Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site, keeping construction moving safely, to programme and to the required standard.
Managing subcontractors, trades and daily site activities.
Planning construction sequencing and maintaining short-term programmes in line with the overall project programme.
Coordinating trades, materials, deliveries and site logistics.
Reviewing drawings and specifications, identifying issues and working with the project team to resolve them.
Monitoring workmanship and managing quality inspections, defects and handover.
Managing site safety, inductions and WHS requirements.
Keeping the Project Manager informed of progress, delays and decisions needed to keep the job moving.
What we're looking for
Commercial construction experience is essential for this role. We're looking for someone who has supervised or managed commercial new builds, refurbishments or fit-outs, ideally on projects of a similar scale.
A trade background, particularly carpentry, will be highly regarded. Candidates with a mix of commercial and residential experience are welcome,
but a solely residential background won't meet the requirements for this position.
You'll need to be organised, confident managing subcontractors and comfortable taking ownership of site delivery. Clear communication matters both with the project team and the people doing the work.
An experienced commercial Foreman ready to move into Site Management will also be considered, provided you can demonstrate the experience and capability to run a site.
Looking for something long term?
This is a family-oriented business with a settled team and plenty of long-serving people. With a healthy pipeline of projects coming up on the Central Coast, they're looking for someone who wants to become part of the business and stay beyond the next job.
A solid track record with previous employers will be valued, along with someone who takes ownership of their work and builds positive relationships on site.
If you're looking for your next short stint, this probably won't be the right fit. But if you're looking for a builder you can settle in with, deliver good projects and build a future with, I'd like to have a chat.
Projects finish and circumstances change, so I'm happy to understand the reasons behind previous moves. What matters is that your next move is one you're serious about.
What's on offer
$160,000–$180,000 base salary + super, depending on experience.
A permanent, full-time position with projects based on the Central Coast.
A healthy pipeline of varied commercial work across the region.
Support from the Project Manager and wider construction team.
The opportunity to join a settled business and build a long-term career.
The builder's name will be shared after an initial chat about your experience and suitability for the role.
If you're based on the Coast, or looking to make the move, give me a call and I'll talk you through the builder, the work and what they're looking for.
