About us
Coastal Orthopaedic Surgery is a specialist hip and knee practice led by Dr Frank Connon, Sunshine Coast orthopaedic surgeon. Dr Connon is known for muscle-sparing anterior hip replacement and quadriceps-sparing (subvastus) knee replacement, and is the only Sunshine Coast–based surgeon with international fellowship training in the anterior approach to the hip. Our in-house team of GP, Nurse Practitioners and physiotherapy staff works to shared hip and knee protocols, giving patients coordinated care from first consultation through to full recovery.
The role
We're seeking an endorsed Nurse Practitioner to join us three days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8am–5pm), running face-to-face clinics at Noosa and/or Birtinya alongside telehealth consultations. You'll manage your own patient list within a well-supported, protocol-driven model of care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Pre-operative assessment and optimisation for hip and knee replacement patients
Post-operative reviews, including wound checks and recovery monitoring

Non-operative management of hip and knee osteoarthritis
Telehealth follow-ups for post-operative and non-surgical patients
Prescribing, ordering and interpreting investigations, and referring within your scope
Patient education, including preparing patients for surgery and rehabilitation
Liaising with referring GPs, physiotherapists and hospital teams
About you
Current AHPRA endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
Medicare provider number and PBS prescriber number (or eligible to obtain)
Orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, perioperative or arthroplasty experience highly regarded but not essential (comprehensive training is able to be provided by our experienced team)
Excellent communication skills and a warm, reassuring manner with patients
Able to work autonomously within established clinical protocols
What we offer
Retain 100% of your MBS billings
Set three-day week: Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8am–5pm. Flexibility for increased hours if desired.
Specialist exposure to leading-edge hip and knee arthroplasty techniques
Established patient base and experienced admin support
Sunshine Coast lifestyle, with clinics in Noosa and Birtinya
Our in-house team of GP, nursing and physiotherapy staff works to shared hip and knee protocols, and we're now growing the team to meet increasing demand
