The Role
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused General Purpose Hands (Deckhands) to join our marine operations team.
Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, you will support the safe operation and presentation of our vessels while helping deliver exceptional guest experiences across our fleet.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting the Master with the safe operation of the vessel during cruise operations
Supporting berthing, unberthing, mooring, and securing vessels at wharves
Assisting with watchkeeping duties as directed by the Master
Ensuring vessels are presented and maintained to a high standard before every departure
Conducting cleaning, detailing, and general deck maintenance duties
Assisting guests with boarding and disembarkation
Working alongside onboard hospitality teams to support the delivery of cruise experiences
Providing warm, professional, and safety-focused customer service
Assisting with onboard safety procedures and emergency preparedness activities
Contributing to a positive, professional, and team-focused workplace culture
About You
You'll ideally have:
A valid AMSA General Purpose Hand (GPH) endorsement
A current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency card
Full working rights in Australia
Previous experience as a General Purpose Hand or Deckhand desirable but not essential
A strong commitment to safety and customer service
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Most importantly, you'll be reliable, professional, safety-conscious, and passionate about delivering exceptional experiences on Sydney Harbour.
