About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced
Microbiologist
for a short-term contract (approximately 2-3 months) to
start immediately,
with a leading beverage manufacturer based in
Yatala
. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality, food safety, hygiene standards, and microbiological compliance across all operations.
This is an excellent chance for a microbiologist with experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments who enjoys hands-on laboratory work combined with on-site quality and hygiene support.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct microbiological testing and analysis
Perform routine sampling, monitoring, and reporting of microbiological results
Trend and analyse data to identify potential risks and support continuous improvement initiatives
Support HACCP, GMP, GLP and food safety compliance programs
Investigate microbiological and hygiene-related issues using root cause analysis techniques
Conduct GMP inspections, audits, and hygiene surveys




Collaborate with Production, Packaging, Engineering, and Quality teams
Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring testing integrity
Promote best-practice hygiene standards to minimise contamination risks
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with laboratory and quality requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Microbial Science, or a related discipline
Previous microbiology laboratory experience within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, environmental, or manufacturing industries
Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP and GLP principles
Experience performing microbiological testing and result interpretation
Excellent reporting, problem-solving and communication skills
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
