Sovereign Community Nursing (SCN) is growing and we are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and reliable aged care workers who would like to be considered for future casual opportunities. While we currently do not have regular or guaranteed hours available, future opportunities will become available as recent clients come on board and additional staffing requirements arise, including cover for planned or unplanned leave.
Please note that a minimum of 3 years' direct aged care experience is essential.

Please note:
This is an expression-of-interest opportunity to join our casual Community Aged Care Worker pool. The timing and frequency of shifts cannot currently be guaranteed although suitable candidates may be contacted as opportunities become available.
Position Summary:
As a Community Aged Care Worker, you will support older people to live safely and independently in their own homes, while building genuine, ongoing relationships that make a meaningful difference to their daily lives.
When opportunities arise, you may work across a group of clients, providing personalised care and support tailored to their individual needs, preferences and routines. Our aim is to provide continuity of care wherever possible, allowing you to get to know clients over time and support their wellbeing, independence and sense of connection.
Your work will include a mix of practical support and meaningful engagement, helping clients not only with day-to-day activities, but also to maintain their confidence,



dignity and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to older clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing and meal preparation.
Support clients with medication management in accordance with their care plans and relevant requirements.
Assist with mobility and transfers and provide companionship to enhance clients' emotional wellbeing.
Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients and their families.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other service providers to support coordinated care.
Document and report changes in clients' conditions and any concerns to the appropriate parties.
Adhere to all safety, hygiene and privacy protocols.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years' recent experience working specifically in aged care is essential.
Experience must include direct support of older people in an aged care or community care setting.
Applicants whose experience is solely or predominantly in disability/NDIS support will not meet the essential experience requirement.
Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent qualification, e.g. second-year Bachelor of Nursing or above.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates at the time of application.
Current National Police Clearance at the time of application.
Australian working rights.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A compassionate, patient and respectful approach to caring for older people.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's licence and comprehensive car insurance.
