This is an opportunity for a lawyer who knows personal injury and workers compensation to take their expertise in-house, have greater influence over claims outcomes and enjoy a more sustainable working environment.

What will you be doing?
You'll play an important role in supporting the legal and claims functions, including:
Arranging investigations and gathering evidence to support sound liability decisions and the assessment of psychological and physical workers compensation claims




Drafting letters of instruction and preparing evidence briefs for independent medical examiners and factual investigators
Supporting the Senior Legal Counsel, Technical Manager and external legal providers with internal reviews and applications relating to disputed claims
Your background and experience will include;
Legal qualifications and, preferably, a current practising certificate
Experience in personal injury or workers compensation law, ideally on the defendant side
Strong knowledge of
NSW workers compensation legislation and applicable case law
An understanding of the workers compensation dispute resolution process and Commission proceedings
Experience within a
workers compensation self-insurance setting
will be highly regarded
