As a Disability Support Worker, you'll work alongside participants to help them achieve their goals. Day to day, this may include:
Supporting personal care, daily living and household tasks
Assisting with community access, social activities and employment goals
Supporting medication prompts and health routines [adjust to scope]
Building positive, respectful relationships with participants and their families
Documenting shift notes and following each participant's support plan
About you
1+ years' experience in disability support, aged care or community services
Confident supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern
Strong documentation, reporting and incident-management skills
Ability to work independently and mentor newer team members
Essential requirements
A current Australian driver's licence (minimum P2)
A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them.
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
Rights to work in Australia
Availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster, including the ability to complete a minimum of two sleepover shifts per fortnight. Common roster of care: 8am - 4pm, 4pm -8am (sleepover 10pm-6am).
