We are seeking an experienced and proactive
Return to Work (RTW) & Injury Management Specialist
to lead our national injury management, rehabilitation, and return-to-work function across multiple operational locations and states (QLD, NSW, NT and WA). This role reports directly to the Head of People & Culture and plays a critical role in supporting Sirrom's broader People, Process and Systems Improvement Program.
About the Role
As the central coordination point for workplace injury and rehabilitation matters, you will partner closely with operational leaders, employees, insurers, medical practitioners, rehabilitation providers and regulators to deliver positive and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Injury Management & Return to Work
Manage workplace injury and rehabilitation cases from initial notification through to claim closure.
Develop, implement and monitor individual Return to Work Plans.
Coordinate suitable duties programs and graduated return-to-work arrangements.
Facilitate early intervention strategies to improve recovery outcomes.
Maintain ongoing communication with injured workers throughout rehabilitation.
Monitor recovery progress and adjust plans in line with medical advice.
Support employees to remain connected to the workplace during recovery.
Promote recovery-at-work principles and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
Case Management
Manage a portfolio of workers compensation and non-workers compensation injury cases.
Coordinate medical reviews, specialist referrals and independent assessments.
Lead case conferences involving key stakeholders.
Prepare rehabilitation plans, case notes and progress reports.
Escalate complex, high-risk or sensitive matters appropriately.
Ensure a consistent, supportive and professional employee experience throughout the rehabilitation process.
Workers Compensation Management
Act as the primary liaison between Sirrom and workers compensation insurers.
Coordinate timely claim lodgements and legislative compliance obligations.
Monitor claim performance, recovery outcomes and costs.
Review insurer decisions and advocate for positive employee outcomes where required.
Support premium management initiatives through effective claims management.
Collaborate with insurers on injury prevention and return-to-work strategies.
Leadership Capability & Coaching
A key component of this role is coaching leaders and building organisational capability in:
Early intervention and injury reporting.
Return-to-work obligations.
Injury management conversations.
Documentation and record keeping.
Escalation pathways and reporting requirements.
You will work closely with Village Managers and Operational Leaders to strengthen confidence and ownership of injury management responsibilities across the business.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with Workers Compensation and Return to Work legislation across relevant jurisdictions.
Act as Return to Work Coordinator where required.
Manage regulator requests and reporting obligations.
Maintain best-practice record management and documentation standards.
Support audits and compliance reviews.
Develop governance frameworks for complex claims, psychological injuries, fitness-for-work concerns and legal matters.
Injury Prevention & Continuous Improvement
Working closely with the HSE & Compliance team, you will:
Analyse injury trends and claim performance.
Participate in incident investigations.
Identify root causes and recurring injury patterns.
Recommend preventative actions and control measures.
Contribute to injury prevention initiatives.
Drive improvements in reporting, intervention timeframes and rehabilitation outcomes.
Systems,
Reporting & Analytics
Maintain injury management databases and rehabilitation records.
Develop dashboards and reporting metrics.
Monitor claim duration, recurrence rates and return-to-work outcomes.
Track key performance indicators and compliance milestones.
Deliver insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
Partner with operational leaders to improve visibility and accountability across injury management processes.
About You
Qualification in Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy, Injury Management, Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety, Health Sciences or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in injury management, rehabilitation or return-to-work coordination.
Strong understanding of Workers Compensation and Return to Work legislation.
Proven experience managing complex injury cases.
Experience working closely with insurers, rehabilitation providers and medical practitioners.
Robust stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
Experience within facilities management, hospitality, accommodation villages, mining, resources, construction, or remote workforce environments.
Experience managing psychological injury claims and psychosocial risk matters.
Additional qualifications in Human Resources or Workplace Health & Safety.
