Mechanical Engineering (Fitter & Turner) Apprenticeship
WPC Group is seeking a motivated individual to commence a 4-year full-time Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship as a Fitter & Turner. This opportunity provides hands-on industry experience while you work towards a nationally recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering – Fitter & Turner. You'll develop practical skills, learn from experienced tradespeople, and gain the knowledge and confidence needed to build a successful career in the industry.
The Mechanical Engineering (Fitter & Turner) Apprenticeship:
Develop an understanding of job-specific requirements, materials, and equipment needs.
Diagnose, install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, including machining processes.
Interpret detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to determine job requirements.
Perform fitting, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical seals, seal systems, and workshop-machined components.
Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair activities on mechanical equipment.
Inspect mechanical components to identify faults, defects, and opportunities for improvement.
Set up and operate hand tools, machine tools, welding equipment, and computer-controlled machinery.
Ensure precision, accuracy, and quality standards are met across all completed parts, tools, and subassemblies.
The ideal Mechanical Engineering (Fitter & Turner) Apprentice:
A genuine interest in mechanical systems and engineering principles.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A strong work ethic, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliable, punctual, efficient, and honest with a positive attitude.
Physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of the role,



including good hand-eye coordination and practical skills.
Certificate II in Engineering and/or previous industry experience is highly regarded.
A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle, or a willingness to obtain a licence soon, is preferred.
