as a LibraryTechnical Officer, where you will play a key role in supporting andmaintaining the library's technology systems and digital services.This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation oflibrary hardware and software, including public computers,printing, copying and scanning services, audio-visual equipment,and mobile duress systems.
Working closely with the Team Leader Technical Services, youwill assist in troubleshooting and supporting the integratedlibrary management system and digital resources. You will alsoprovide guidance and training to library staff, respond to customertechnology enquiries, and contribute to the delivery of digitalliteracy initiatives that enhance the community's access toinformation and technology.
Reporting to the Technical Services Team Leader at our City ofPerth Library, your key responsibilities will include:
Maintain and support the library's technologyinfrastructure, including RFID equipment, public computers,digital signage, mobile duress systems, and audio-visualequipment.
Administer and troubleshoot library-specific software andapplications, ensuring reliable and effective servicedelivery.
Provide technical support to library customers, resolvingissues relating to printing, scanning, copying, and otherdigital services.
Deliver training and ongoing support to library staff oncorporate and library technologies through both formal trainingsessions and one-on-one assistance.




Contribute to a seamless customer experience by ensuringlibrary technology systems remain operational, accessible, anduser-friendly.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
Proven problem-solving abilities and the initiative toindependently resolve technical issues in a customer-focusedenvironment.
Experience supporting and troubleshooting PCs,multi-function devices and customer-facing printing, copying,and scanning services.
Experience working with vendors to support an ITenvironment.
Robust technical capability across a broad range ofhardware and software, including Windows 11 and Microsoft 365applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and provideeffective training and support to staff and library customerswith varying levels of digital literacy.
