Our Human Resource Operations team plays a critical role in delivering accurate employee data, quality HR systems administration and trusted workforce information that supports informed decision-making across Council.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring HR professional who is eager to develop both their technical HRIS expertise and broader professional capability. The role provides valuable exposure to complex workforce processes, reporting, systems administration and stakeholder engagement, creating a pathway toward more senior responsibilities within the HRIS function.
As an HRIS Officer, you will gain broad exposure to the operational and technical aspects of HR systems administration. You'll support employee lifecycle activities, maintain workforce data integrity, provide HRIS advice to stakeholders and assist in delivering critical workforce information and reporting to the business.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems and data, has a strong attention to detail and is eager to develop their technical capability within a supportive team environment. You'll have the opportunity to build valuable experience in HR systems, reporting, workforce data management, problem-solving and stakeholder support while contributing to meaningful organisational outcomes.
Position responsibilities include:
Processing employee lifecycle transactions including new starters, employee movements and Temporary Employment Variations (TEVs).
Maintaining organisational structures and employee information within the HRIS.
Monitoring and responding to HRIS enquiries and requests.
Providing HRIS information and support to employees, leaders and HR stakeholders.
Investigating and resolving HRIS-related enquiries and data issues.
Supporting compliance with relevant policies, procedures,



awards and legislative requirements.
Producing workforce data, reports and statistics to support business decision-making.
Contributing to the accuracy, integrity and continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.

A genuine interest in developing a career in HRIS, workforce systems and people data.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Experience working with information systems, databases or administration platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced customer service skills and the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
Confidence working with Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
Ability to investigate issues, interpret information and identify practical solutions.
Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to professional development.

: Level 3 starts at $81,575 + superannuation.
