Ourclient is part of a National Electrical and Engineering Group with more than 50 years of industry experience. Their Utilities & Resources division specialises in delivering electrical, automation and engineered solutions across the water, wastewater, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
With an established national footprint, strong industry reputation and continued growth across the sector, they are now seeking an experienced
Business Development Manager
to further develop their market presence and key client relationships.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Manager – Sales, you will take ownership of identifying and securing new business opportunities while continuing to grow an established portfolio of key accounts.
This is a senior, commercially focused role requiring someone who understands the Australian electrical contracting and infrastructure market and can combine technical knowledge, industry relationships and business development capability. You will work closely with clients and internal engineering, estimating and project teams to identify opportunities from early engagement and tendering through to negotiation and project award.Key Responsibilities
Identify and secure opportunities across water, wastewater, utilities and infrastructure
Develop opportunities involving automation systems, 11kV–415V kiosk substations, MCCs & drives, MSBs, DBs and packaged electrical solutions
Maintain and grow an established portfolio of key customers
Develop strategic account plans in conjunction with the General Manager
Build strong relationships with new and existing clients, consultants, contractors and industry partners
Identify upcoming projects and tender opportunities
Support the estimating team with tender preparation and submissions
Manage tender follow-up, commercial discussions and negotiations




Work closely with key supply chain and technology partners
Collaborate with project teams to support successful project delivery and customer outcomes
Regularly engage with clients locally and interstate

Who Are We Looking For?
To be successful, you will bring a proven track record of business development and sales success within the Australian electrical contracting, water or infrastructure sectors.
Ideally, you will have:
Minimum 5 years' local sales and business development experience, particularly across water and infrastructure
Electrical Trade and/or tertiary Engineering qualifications
Strong contracting and systems integration experience
Experience with switchboards and packaged electrical solutions
Strong knowledge of HV switchgear, transformers, protection systems and packaged solutions
Established industry relationships and strong commercial awareness
Excellent communication, relationship management and negotiation skills
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across sales, engineering, estimating and project teams
