Join Our Team as a Senior People and Culture Lead for Avolta

Are you an experienced HR professional looking to lead people initiatives across a national business? Based at Perth International Airport, this pivotal role will oversee People & Culture and Payroll operations across Australia, supporting both our Retail and Food & Beverage businesses. We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded HR leader who can partner effectively with senior stakeholders, drive strategic people initiatives, and deliver operational excellence across a diverse, multi-site workforce. ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead People & Culture and Payroll across Avolta's Retail and Food & Beverage businesses in Australia. As the country's senior HR leader, you will work closely with managers and senior stakeholders to deliver practical people solutions that support business performance, compliance and employee engagement.
You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, lead key people initiatives,
manage complex ER and IR matters, and oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate and compliant outcomes. This role is ideally suited to an experienced HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic business partnering with hands-on HR and payroll leadership in a fast-paced, multi-site workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee all HR operations across Australia (Retail & Food & Beverage).
- Act as the primary HR Business Partner for country leadership teams.
- Manage all employee relations and industrial relations matters at a country level.
- Own and maintain employee policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
- Lead recruitment for country-level positions and support site recruitment activities.
- Oversee learning, training and development initiatives across the business.
- Drive key HR projects and change management initiatives nationally.
- Represent Australia in regional HR forums and meetings, communicating and implementing key actions locally.
- Serve as the key point of contact between Australian operations and regional/global HR teams.
- Manage month-end payroll reporting and oversee end-to-end payroll operations, with direct responsibility for payroll.
- Provide regular HR reporting, workforce insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
ABOUT YOU:
EXPERIENCE & SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant experience in a senior HR role, preferably in retail, Hospitality or FMCG.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- Strong payroll leadership experience, including a sound understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, taxation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations and industrial relations matters.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace compliance.
- Proven ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading projects, driving change and implementing business improvement initiatives.
- Strong recruitment, workforce planning and talent management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using SuccessFactors HRIS is highly desirable.
