About the role
As a Greenkeeping Apprentice, you will gain hands-on training across all areas of sports turf and golf course maintenance while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. You'll work alongside experienced greenkeepers and learn the skills required to develop a long-term career in the industry.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with daily course preparation and presentation, including mowing, raking, trimming and set-up
- Learn the safe and effective operation of turf maintenance equipment and machinery
- Support irrigation setup, watering practices and minor repairs under guidance
- Take part in renovation works, including coring, scarifying and topdressing
- Develop knowledge of turf health, including pest, weed and disease identification
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
- Attend TAFE and complete all required apprenticeship coursework
About you
- Reliable, punctual and keen to learn
- Enjoys physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Able to work well in a team setting
- Has strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) a driver's licence
- Passionate about turf, sport or environmental work (no previous experience required)
