About the role
We're looking for a Payroll Officer to join our small, close-knit team and help ensure our 100-strong workforce is paid accurately and on time. This 20-hours-per-week role would suit someone looking to return to the workforce, or who has commitments outside typical working hours.
Key responsibilities
- Process payroll: collect and review hours, calculate wages, entitlements and deductions
- Maintain accurate records-keeping payroll data, update internal payroll databases
- Ensure payroll processes aligned with workplace legislation and EV policies
- Respond to employee enquiries regarding their salaries and entitlements
- Prepare payroll reports, distribute payment statements and collaborate with finance or HR for audits and reconciliations
- Stay across payroll regulation changes and suggest better ways of working
About you
- A Diploma or Certificate IV in Payroll,
with at least 3 years' payroll experience
- Demonstrated experience applying the VECTEA award (essential)
- Experience with SCHADS and/or Clerks awards (highly regarded)
- Confidence with payroll software: ELMO experience is a strong advantage
- Strong Excel skills and a sharp eye for detail
- A solid understanding of privacy legislation, tax and salary packaging rules
- Friendly and supportive, assisting staff with payroll questions
