King Island Childcare & Early Learning Centre Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and passionate early childhood professional to join our team as our Centre Leader.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood educator and leader to take on a meaningful management role within a small, supportive community. As Centre Leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership of our service while supporting our dedicated team to deliver high-quality education and care for children and families.

You will play an important role in building strong relationships with children, families, educators and the wider King Island community, while fostering a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.

About the role

Working closely with our team and community, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading, supporting and mentoring the centre team

- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service

- Building strong partnerships with children, families and the community

- Supporting curriculum planning and continuous improvement

- Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework and relevant regulations

- Managing enrolments, staffing, administration and centre resources

- Promoting a positive culture of inclusion, respect and collaboration

- Supporting the delivery of high-quality education and care

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood and has the confidence and capability to lead a team.

You will ideally have:

- An approved Early Childhood Teaching or Diploma-level qualification

- Experience in a leadership or management role within an early childhood setting

- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard

- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills





- A strong commitment to child safety, inclusion and high-quality outcomes

- The ability to work collaboratively within a small, supportive community

- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration and relevant first aid qualifications, or a willingness to obtain them

- A minimum of 2 years experience in a Centre Leader or 2IC role
