About the role

Canteen is looking for a reliable and experienced Cook or Kitchen Hand who is ready to step up and grow with our kitchen team.

We’re a busy ramen restaurant located at Dairy Road in Fyshwick, known for our handmade noodles, tori-style ramen, and rapid-paced yet supportive kitchen environment.

We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, works well under pressure, and is keen to take on more responsibility as part of a strong team.

Key responsibilities

- Food preparation and basic cooking

- Assisting chefs during service

- Preparing ingredients and maintaining prep levels

- Dishwashing and general kitchen duties when required

- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas

- Receiving, rotating, and storing stock correctly

- Following food safety and hygiene procedures

About you

- Previous experience working in a busy commercial kitchen

- Confident with food preparation and basic cooking duties

- Able to work efficiently during busy service periods

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Reliable, organised, and willing to learn

- Strong understanding of kitchen cleanliness and food safety

- Availability across weekdays and weekends is preferred
