The Role
Our Lagoon Street site is situated in the Bega Valley Shire and is the original site of Bega Cheese. Located on the beautiful Sapphire coast, far south coast of NSW, Lagoon Street is still producing Australia's favourite cheese products - cheddar cheese, string cheese as well as butter.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef with front of house experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated hospitality qualified who takes pride in creating high-quality food, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining the highest food safety standards.

Working within our café and hospitality operations, you will play a key role in preparing fresh, appealing and consistent food while contributing to a welcoming and memorable experience for visitors.

Please note that weekend availability is required!

Responsibilities

- Contribute to daily front of house and café operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a welcoming visitor experience.
- Prepare and present high-quality café meals, catering, and function offerings while maintaining consistent food quality and presentation standards.
- Manage and train team members, allocate tasks, assist with training, and provide leadership during busy service periods.
- Manage cash handling, POS transactions, stock control, ordering, and opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace compliance while working collaboratively across the kitchen and front of house teams.

About you

- Previous experience in similar roles, related qualification is highly regarded.
- Understands food safety and safe food-handling practices
- Is reliable, flexible and takes pride in their work
- Excellent communication, organisation skill and attention to details
- Customer-focused with ability to lead during busy periods
