About the role

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machine Operator for permanent full-time (5 days) or part-time (3 days) to join our team at Spot On Ring Rolling in Braeside, Victoria. As a Lathe Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring high-quality output and contributing to the overall success of the business.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and maintaining industrial lathe machines, and vertical borer to produce a variety of metal components and parts

- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and work orders to set up and operate machinery accurately

- Performing routine maintenance and adjustments on lathe machines to ensure optimal performance

- Monitoring production runs and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency

- Reporting any issues or machine malfunctions to the appropriate personnel

- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work workplace

- Collaborating with the wider production team to meet deadlines and achieve business objectives

About you

- Proven experience as a Lathe Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment





- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions

- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong time management and organizational skills

- Relevant trade qualifications or certificates, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
