A growing financial services business is looking for an experienced BI Engineer to join its data and analytics team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning the end-to-end data journey — from extracting data from source systems, through to building robust data pipelines and models, and ultimately delivering insightful reporting and dashboards.
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, data and technology teams to ensure high-quality, reliable data is available to support better business decisions.

About the role
As a BI Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the organisation’s data and reporting environment. Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing the end-to-end data process, from source systems through to reporting and analytics.
- Extracting and integrating data from a range of internal and external source systems.
- Designing and building ETL/ELT data pipelines, using tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) or WhereScape RED.
- Loading and transforming data into a PostgreSQL data warehouse.
- Designing and developing robust data models to support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
- Working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Developing and maintaining Power BI or Tableau reports, dashboards and visualisations.
- Ensuring data quality, integrity, accuracy and consistency across the data platform.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and resolving data issues.
- Optimising data processes, models and reporting solutions for performance and scalability.
- Contributing to data governance,



documentation and best-practice data engineering standards.

About you
We’re looking for a BI Engineer who combines strong technical capability with a practical understanding of how data needs to support a business.
You must have:

- Robust experience working across the full BI/data lifecycle, from source systems through to reporting.
- Proven experience building and managing data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and/or WhereScape RED.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience designing data warehouses and dimensional/data models for reporting and analytics.
- Strong experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
- An understanding of data quality, data integration and data transformation principles.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data and reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate data issues and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across both technical and business teams.
