Manual Machinist – (Horizontal Boring Machine) | Western Australia

We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our client’s team in Western Australia.

The successful candidate will have robust experience operating Horizontal Boring Machines, with a solid background in manual machining and heavy engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to further their career in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

- Setting up and operating large manual Horizontal Boring Machines
- Performing precision machining of heavy engineering components
- Reading and working from engineering drawings, measurements and specifications
- Selecting and setting appropriate cutting tools and machining processes
- Measuring and inspecting finished components to ensure accuracy and quality
- Carrying out boring, drilling, facing and other manual machining operations
- Working with large and heavy machinery components
- Performing routine checks and maintaining machinery and equipment
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to required quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist, Machinist or similar trade
- Strong hands-on experience operating Horizontal Boring Machines




- Experience with Vertical Boring Machines will be an advantage
- Solid manual machining experience in a heavy engineering or heavy machinery environment
- Experience setting up and operating large manual machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and measurements
- Strong understanding of precision machining and quality control
- Trade qualification preferred
- Good understanding of workshop safety and safe work practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
