What you need to apply

- Trade’s Qualification or equivalent.

- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience as a heavy diesel mechanic.

- Current Australian driver’s license.

- Strong knowledge of diesel systems.

- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.

- Strength and stamina to lift heavy tools, stand for long hours, and work in a workshop setting.

- Strong commitment to workplace safety.

- Good communication skills to maintain strong relationships with the maintenance supervisor, staff, customers and management.

General Position Description

- Performing routine servicing, Changing oil, checking fluid levels, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance.

- Fixing or replacing broken transmissions, steering mechanisms,



and hydraulic systems.

- Running operational checks to ensure machinery performs safely and correctly after repairs.

- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic software and testing tools

- Repairing engines, drivetrains, suspension, brakes.

- Performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

- Rebuilding and overhauling engines and major components.

- Interpreting technical manuals and service manuals.

- Ability to work on auxiliary equipment.

- Completing service reports and compliance documentation.
