The Youth Engagement Officer plays a key role in delivering responsive and inclusive services, programs, and projects that enhance outcomes for young people in Darebin. Working as part of a collaborative Youth Services team, the position supports youth engagement, outreach, program delivery, community development initiatives, information and referral services, and youth participation activities. The role provides an opportunity to contribute directly to creating positive outcomes for young people while building strong partnerships across the community.

You will:
- Planning, delivering, and evaluating youth programs, projects, and events.
- Engaging with young people through outreach and community-based activities.
- Providing information, support, and referrals to young people and their families.
- Building relationships with schools, community organisations, and service providers.
- Supporting youth participation initiatives and opportunities for young people to have their voices heard.
- Monitoring program outcomes and contributing to continuous service improvement.
- Assisting with administration, reporting, risk management, and program promotion.
Skills and Experience
- Experience engaging and building positive relationships with young people using youth participation and community development approaches.
- Knowledge of contemporary youth issues, trends, and the needs of diverse young people and their families.
- Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating youth programs, projects, and events.
- Ability to provide information, support, and referrals to young people in a professional and strengths-based manner.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and partnership-building skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
