We are looking for an experienced Injury Management Coordinator to join our KCGM Operations in this challenging and rewarding position.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent working a 5/2: 4/3 9-hour day roster.
The Injury Management Coordinator is a shared role across KCGM and Kalgoorlie Operations. The primary role is to is to ensure the health of all workers through the delivery of proactive injury management, facilitation of the workers compensation process and general health promotion across the Kalgoorlie Production Centre.
What you can look forward to:
- Coordinate the management of workplace injuries including referred early care and/or worker's compensation claims by regularly liaising with the applicable medical teams, injury management personnel, treating practitioners, external rehabilitation providers, and the company insurer.
- Facilitate return to work programs for early care and/or worker's compensation claims and provide updates on injury status, health and medical matters to relevant department and line management;
- Communicate with medical and allied health providers to develop and implement return to work programs and plans for workplace injuries.
- Develop and implement pro-active injury management and rehabilitation strategies alongside relevant internal/external stakeholders to achieve desired fitness for work outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records/files of injury management activities.
- Provide effective case management strategies for injured workers.
Where you'll add value:
- Minimum three years occupational health/injury management experience, preferably in the mining industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of Fitness for Work requirements, Ergonomics, Workers Compensation and Occupational Health Rehabilitation Services.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to positively influence others.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, you multitask effectively and are comfortable in a dynamic & outcome focused environment.
Qualifications:
- Workers Compensation & Injury Management Certificate or similar suitable qualification.
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
Desired Experience & Competencies:
- Occupational Health, Nursing, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiologist qualifications.
- Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety.
