Parts Interpreter / Parts Sales (All Levels)

Parts interpreter, trade counter or spare parts sales background? We're hiring at $32 to $38 + an hour plus super. Monday to Friday, no weekends, and every second Friday afternoon off.

We're open on level. If you're earlier in your parts career, you'll start as a Sales & Parts Advisor. If you have the experience and the technical depth, we'll appoint you as a Senior Sales & Parts Advisor. We set the level on the skill set you can show us.

This is a sales role, and that's the part that sets it apart. Plenty of parts counters just fill orders. Here, when someone asks for injectors, you're asking about seals, return lines, filters and whether the pump has been checked. Customers come back because the job got done right the first time, and that's how we grow.

Baileys Diesel Group (BDG) is a diesel fuel injection, turbocharger and engine components business. From our Unanderra workshop, just south of Wollongong, we supply and service diesel and automotive parts for trade and retail customers across the country.

The job

- Looking after trade and retail customers on the counter, phone and email
- Making sure customers leave with everything the job needs, not just the part they asked for
- Quoting, then following up to turn those quotes into orders
- Entering orders accurately in MYOB and keeping customer records straight
- Working with the warehouse on stock, picking and dispatch
- Chasing non-stocked items through suppliers on price and lead time
- Learning our range: diesel fuel injection, turbochargers and engine components

At senior level, you'll also

- Look after your own portfolio of key trade accounts and grow what they buy from us
- Mentor newer advisors on product, part identification and customer handling




- Back up our workshop and production team on parts identification

What we're after

Ex-mechanic or diesel tech looking to get off the workshop floor? You're exactly who we want. You already know how engines go together and what the customer on the phone actually needs.

Someone who's done sales, parts or customer service somewhere it mattered. Auto, truck, ag, industrial or trade counter all count. You need to be accurate under pressure, positive with people and comfortable picking up new systems.

Beyond that, we want someone who's ambitious. We're growing, and we'd rather build people up than keep hiring in from outside, so we want someone who wants to go somewhere and will put in the work to get there.

For the Advisor level: diesel knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement. If you know parts and you're willing to learn the technical side, we'll teach you.

For the Senior level: you'll have at least three years in parts and the technical depth to back it up. Tell us about the accounts you've looked after and the people you've trained.

Nice to have

- Diesel fuel injection, turbocharger or engine component knowledge
- Parts interpreting background in automotive, truck, ag or industrial
- MYOB or a similar inventory and sales system

What you get

- $32 to $38 + per hour plus super, above the award rate, set by level and experience
- Full time, Monday to Friday, no weekends. 76 hours a fortnight with every second Friday afternoon off
- Ongoing product and technical training through us and our suppliers
- A real path forward: Advisor to Senior, then optional external sales, account management or sales supervisor as you develop
- A small team where what you do actually shows up in the numbers

A current driver's licence is required. You must have the right to work in Australia.
