LOCATION: Brisbane / South East Queensland
PAY: $40–$45 per hour depending on experience + super + overtime
HOURS: Starting 5 days per week, Monday–Friday
EMPLOYMENT: Permanent ongoing position

About the role

TMF Welding is a growing Brisbane-based welding, fabrication and installation company servicing long-term clients across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

We're looking for a qualified Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our growing team.

You’ll initially be working 5 days a week with one of our long-term clients , working alongside the TMF crew on an ongoing site-based contract.

As TMF continues to grow, the role will also move across our workshop fabrication, mobile welding and installation work as required. This means you’ll have the opportunity to work across different projects rather than being tied to the same job every day.

There is plenty of room for the right person to grow with the business as our workload continues to increase.

What you’ll be doing

Depending on the work underway, your role will include:

- Fabricating structural steel and miscellaneous metalwork from shop drawings

- MIG and stick welding to AS/NZS 1554.1

- Setting out, measuring, cutting and preparing your own work

- Oxy and plasma cutting, grinding and finishing

- Working from drawings and taking responsibility for your own jobs

- Mobile welding and fabrication work





- Site installation work across Brisbane and SEQ

- Loading, securing and transporting materials and equipment

- Setting up on site and fixing off fabricated items

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop and worksite

- Working as part of a small, hands-on team

When you’re working on mobile welding or installation jobs, a TMF site vehicle will be provided.

About you

We’re looking for someone who can work independently and take pride in the quality of their work.

You’ll ideally have:

- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, Boilermaking, or equivalent trade experience

- Solid experience in structural steel and general fabrication

- Confident MIG and stick welding skills

- Ability to read and work from shop drawings

- Ability to measure, set out and complete work without being walked through every step

- Experience with grinding, cutting and general workshop equipment

- A valid driver’s licence (essential)

- Reliable transport

- A strong focus on safety and quality

- Reliable and punctual work habits

- Full Australian working rights — Australian citizen, permanent resident, or visa holder with unrestricted Australian work rights
