Where you'll be working
Join the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV), a statewide leader in workforce development, education, capacity building and community programs focused on preventing and responding to violence, abuse and neglect. Based at Cumberland Hospital, you will be part of a dedicated and supportive team within Western Sydney Local Health District, working collaboratively with Aboriginal communities, government agencies and key stakeholders to deliver meaningful and lasting outcomes.

What you’ll be doing




This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated professional to support the delivery of strategic projects, education programs and community initiatives within the ECAV Aboriginal Portfolio. Working closely with the Manager, Aboriginal Portfolio, you will play a key role in coordinating activities, supporting program delivery and ensuring projects achieve successful outcomes.

· Coordinate project administration, planning activities, meetings, reports and stakeholder communications

· Provide high-quality secretariat support for advisory groups, networks and community forums

· Support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Aboriginal workforce development and community programs

· Maintain accurate records, reporting processes and project documentation in line with organisational requirements

· Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting culturally responsive service delivery

Selection Criteria:

1. This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander descent, have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.



An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.

2. Relevant tertiary qualifications, at a minimum holding a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Family Wellbeing and Violence Prevention Work (10619NAT) or willingness to work towards this.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with demonstrated ability to learn new record management systems and/or platforms (eg. Office 365, HPE, Moodle, Scodle).

4. Proven effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to foster positive and effective working relationships.

5. Highly developed skills in prioritisation, organisation, complex problem solving, time management and completing tasks to deadlines.

6. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively both independently with minimum supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.

7. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to cultural safety and behaviour consistent with NSW Health CORE values.

8. Willingness to travel within NSW and has a current driver’s license valid in NSW.
