Senior Dental Assistant & Clinical Team Leader | Full Time (4 Days Per Week)

Sydney Road Dental Care is seeking an exceptional Senior Dental Assistant & Clinical Team Leader to join our growing practice in beautiful Manly.

This is much more than a standard Dental Assistant position. We are looking for an experienced qualified who is passionate about patient care, enjoys mentoring others, and is ready to play a key leadership role within our clinical team.

Enjoy a genuine work-life balance with a full-time position worked over just 4 days per week (38 hours) , with practice hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and no weekend work .

About the Role

As our Senior Dental Assistant & Clinical Team Leader , you will be a key leader within the practice, working closely with our dentists and management team to support the day‑to‑day operations of the clinical department.

You will lead by example, mentor and support fellow Dental Assistants, uphold exceptional clinical standards, and help create a positive, high-performing team culture.

This role combines hands‑on clinical dentistry with leadership responsibilities and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on both patient experiences and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and guidance to the Dental Assistant team
- Mentor, coach, and develop fellow Dental Assistants
- Assist with onboarding and training of recent clinical team members
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding patient care




- Chairside assisting across a wide range of procedures including:
- Cosmetic Dentistry
- Surgical Procedures
- Clear Aligner Therapy

- Oversee infection control and sterilisation procedures
- Ensure treatment rooms, equipment, and instruments are maintained to the highest standards
- Support daily clinical workflow and team efficiency
- Assist with stock management and ordering
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and clinical processes
- Build strong relationships with patients and help deliver an exceptional patient experience
- Work closely with the leadership team to achieve practice goals and clinical excellence

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

- Have a minimum of 3 years’ dental assisting experience




- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and the ability to lead by example
- Have experience mentoring or supporting other team members
- Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have exceptional attention to detail
- Be proactive, adaptable, and solutions‑focused
- Thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Be passionate about delivering an outstanding patient experience
- Have a genuine desire to learn, grow, and build a long‑term career

Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded but not essential.

Previous experience as a Senior Dental Assistant, Lead Dental Assistant, Clinical Coordinator, or a mentoring role within a dental practice will be highly regarded.
