About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and delivering excellent customer outcomes. You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting heavy vehicles while working as part of a professional and supportive team.
Key responsibilities
Carry out repairs, servicing, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and drivelines.
Use advanced diagnostic software and computer systems to accurately identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Complete pre-delivery inspections and testing to ensure vehicles meet quality and safety standards.
Prepare detailed and accurate job reports on repair work, supplies, and recommendations.
Maintain clear and accurate service and repair documentation.
Mentoring and guiding apprentice technicians, ensuring protected work practices.
Diagnose faults efficiently and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
Work in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures and industry standards.
Deliver high-quality workmanship with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
About you
Trade qualifications as a Heavy Vehicle Technician or equivalent.
Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
The ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
A current HC or HR driver's licence is advantageous but not essential.
