Job Description

The Inn is settled in the ancient township of St Albans on the banks of the Macdonald River. It is a quiet satisfaction for locals, tourists and visitors to enjoy food and hospitality.

The bistro runs seven days a week, serving a range of customers and occasions and needing constant food preparation, quality, presentation, hygiene and efficient kitchen operations.

Task & responsibilities

- Inspect food and take necessary actions to ensure freshness, quality, and permit compliance to food safety regulations.
- Prepare foods by recipe, customer request, and operational standards.
- Use and maintain kitchen equipment (ie., Ovens, grills, fryers, etc) by keeping the correct cooking temperature.
- Use seasonings/marinades/sauces/food garnishing in order to achieve flavour and consistency of foods.
- Correctly portion and plate food in order to meet presentation standards and limit food waste.
- Store food according to regulations (refrigerate, freeze,



or place in an appropriate temperature-controlled area) and rotate stock.
- Prepare food and menus to accommodate special dietary needs, allergy-related issues, religious/cultural beliefs, etc.
- Participate in menu preparation and accessing ingredient orders and working with kitchen personnel to assure successful kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness in work setting in accordance with workplace health and food safety regulations.
