As part of the Identity Branch your work will help protect all Australians from identity crime – including you.
The branch is responsible for the technical systems, policies and legal frameworks that are needed to establish, protect and verify identity. The branch works with Commonwealth, state and territory government agencies and industry to implement innovative methods to prevent identity crime and support victims, helps Australians to access the digital economy and digital IDs, and improves how identity is verified.
This role will work within the Identity Verification Service (IVS) Operations Section and supports the effective delivery of three identity and biometric capabilities - the Document Verification Service (DVS) the Face Verification Service (FVS) and the National Driver Licence Facial Recognition Solution (NDLFRS).

How you can help us make a difference
We are seeking energetic and fast-learning officers who are looking to work with diverse stakeholders to support the operational functions of the identity verification services.
As an APS4 - Program Officer your responsibilities include:
- customer onboarding support, including investigation and resolution of customer issues and maintaining a customer database
- developing and maintaining communications materials, including templates and user guides
- creating documentation to help deliver,
communicate and support change processes and support day to day operations
- maintaining strong relationships and partnerships with other relevant government, external agencies and industry
- supporting workshops, meetings and stakeholder forums including secretariat duties as required
Our preferred candidate will showcase:
- an understanding of program management principles
- robust MS Office skills
- high level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- an ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve shared goals
- strong attention to detail and time management skills suited to a high-pressure environment
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment at the Attorney-General’s Department applicants must be Australian citizens.
Applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a police record check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a specified clearance level. The successful applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created from this process, and will be active for 18 months after the date of this gazettal.
