About the role
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be a trusted partner to our senior leaders, providing strategic and practical advice and coaching across a broad range of people matters to build their confidence and capability in leading their teams.
This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to contemporary people initiatives, projects and continuous improvement while building strong relationships across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
This opportunity extends beyond traditional HR partnering. You will contribute across people strategy, leadership development, performance and employee relations, and help shape an evolving P&C; function. You’ll:
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, providing proactive advice and hands‑on business partnering across a broad range of people matters.
- Equip senior leaders with the confidence and capability to build and lead effective teams.
- Support all activities across Compassion Australia’s performance and talent development frameworks.
- Lead and contribute to P&C; projects, policies and people practices that improve organisational effectiveness and employee experience.
- In collaboration with the Head of P&C;, support the implementation of organisational design and change initiatives.
You will also play an important role in mentoring and developing other members of the P&C; team, providing technical HR guidance and helping build capability across the function.
About you
You're an experienced business partner or HR generalist who combines strong technical expertise with sound judgement and a practical approach while remaining connected with the operational priorities of the organisation.
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a HR Business Partnering role, with a broad generalist HR foundation.
- Experience supporting organisational change, performance management and organisational capability.
- A practical, collaborative style with the confidence to constructively challenge and influence.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice and policies.
- Proven abilityto workin a growing setting where processes and practices are still evolving.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on within a collaborative P&C; team.
