Fleet & Plant Asset Coordinator (Hands-On)

Civil Construction | Plant, Vehicles & Equipment

About Beltrame Civil

Beltrame Civil is a South Australian civil contractor delivering infrastructure, earthworks, utilities, road construction and development projects across metropolitan and regional areas.

We own and operate a large and diverse fleet of plant, vehicles and heavy construction equipment, ranging from hand and battery-powered tools, small petrol and two-stroke plant, all the way through to excavators from 2t to 40t, on and off highway trucks, loaders, skidsteers, bulldozers, graders, rollers and other heavy construction equipment. Our fleet is made up of Caterpillar, Yanmar, Case, Bomag, Liebherr, Volvo, Scania and Hino.

As a long-standing, stable and highly regarded civil contractor, ongoing growth means we are now looking for a practical, mechanically minded and independently driven person to take ownership of the maintenance, readiness and coordination of our fleet and equipment.

We pride ourselves on maintaining our equipment properly and, wherever practical, carrying out maintenance and repairs in-house.

This role is suited to someone who would share that pride, and takes enjoyment from effective problem solving, working with machinery of all sizes, improving systems and has pride in keeping assets protected, compliant, reliable and ready for work.

The Opportunity

The Fleet & Plant Asset Coordinator is a hands-on role combining mechanical work, preventative maintenance and fleet coordination. It combines both site and workshop-based activities, co-ordinating with the Operations teams to quickly prioritise and respond to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements.

This is far more than a traditional mechanics’ role. You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment where practical, diagnosing faults, coordinating external repairs and servicing for both scheduled and emergency repairs and maintenance, overseeing fleet readiness and compliance, controlling workshop inventory and maintaining accurate asset records.

This is not a role where you'll work on the same type of machine every day.

One day you might be repairing a small engine, changing out wear parts or welding and fabrication.

The next,

you could be responding to pre-start reports by attending site in a supplied vehicle to top up fluids, organising a major repair, attending a breakdown, sourcing parts or preparing equipment for deployment to site.

If you enjoy variety, autonomy and being trusted to take ownership, this role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing civil construction business.
