The Role:
Full Time | Ongoing | commencing 2027
The Coordinator of Junior School Music provides educational, artistic and operational leadership for music learning and participation throughout the Junior School. The role is responsible for fostering a vibrant and inclusive music culture that encourages excellence, creativity and engagement for all students.
Working closely with the Director of Music and Junior School leadership, the Coordinator of Junior School Music oversees curriculum delivery, ensemble programs, performances, staff leadership and future program development. The position plays a key role in ensuring that classroom and co-curricular music experiences are connected, purposeful and aligned with the school's strategic priorities.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide strategic leadership for all aspects of music education and musical engagement across the Junior School.
- Develop and champion a clear vision for music learning and participation from Prep to Year 6.
- Lead, mentor and support Junior School music staff to deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative and cutting-edge team culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the planning, delivery and review of a contemporary, engaging and developmentally appropriate music curriculum.
- Monitor student achievement, engagement and participation data to drive program improvement and growth.
- Support and enhance the Junior School ensemble program, working collaboratively with instrumental faculties.
- Direct Junior School choirs and prepare high-quality repertoire for students from Prep to Year 6.
- Create and promote diverse ensemble, performance and musical learning opportunities for students.
- Lead the planning and delivery of major Junior School music events, including House Music, the Year 6 Musical, Celebration Morning and Graduation ceremonies.
- Collaborate with the Head of Junior School and Director of Music to contribute to whole-school music initiatives and future program development.
- Identify and implement innovative opportunities in music education, technology and performance practice to enhance student experience and program sustainability.

- Experience in a similar role is desirable
