The Role
We are seeking an inspiring Head of Library and Information Services to lead a vibrant, inclusive library that supports literacy, learning, and curriculum delivery. This role curates digital and physical collections, fosters a love of reading, and empowers students and staff to become confident, information-literate learners in a dynamic digital setting. The successful candidate will ensure the library remains an inclusive, innovative, and well-resourced environment.
This is a part time (0.5), 12-month fixed term contract, commencing 1 January 2027at our Wheelers Hill Campus.
Key Duties
- Lead the strategic direction of library services, fostering literacy, inclusion, and a love of reading across the school community.
- Collaborate with educators to integrate information and media literacy into teaching and learning programs.
- Manage and mentor library staff, supporting performance, wellbeing, and professional development.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of digital and physical collections, ensuring access to high-quality resources.
- Administer library systems, budgets, and operations to maintain an efficient and welcoming learning environment.
- Promote student engagement through events, programs, and initiatives that support critical thinking and lifelong learning.
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience managing school libraries, with strong decision-making, planning, and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across the school community.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum support, with a focus on literacy and information skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including team management, mentoring, and fostering collaboration.
- High-level problem-solving, conflict resolution, and feedback skills.
- Data literacy and experience using data to enhance student learning, ideally across multiple campuses.
- Teaching qualification and holds a current VIT
