Public Sector People are currently working with a
rural Shire Council in North-West Victoria
seeking a
Planning Officer
to join their team on a temporary basis.

This is a great opportunity for a planner looking to gain further Local Government experience within a supportive rural council environment, managing a varied statutory planning caseload.
The Role As Planning Officer, you will be responsible for: n
n
Assessing and processing a range of planning permit applications.
n
Providing planning advice to applicants, residents and internal stakeholders.
n
Interpreting and applying the Victorian Planning Provisions and relevant Planning Scheme.
n
Preparing reports, correspondence and recommendations.
n
Undertaking site inspections and supporting broader statutory planning functions.
n
Liaising with referral authorities and key stakeholders throughout the application process.
n
About You To be successful, you will ideally have: n




n
A qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
n
Previous statutory planning experience, ideally within Victorian Local Government.
n
Knowledge of the Planning and Setting Act and Victorian Planning Provisions.
n
Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
n
Confidence managing stakeholders and providing clear planning advice.
n
The ability to independently manage a caseload and competing priorities.
n
