MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WORKERS WANTED - DAPTO & FAIRY MEADOW n
We are currently seeking experienced Support Workers to join our growing Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Dapto and Fairy Meadow.
n
The successful applicants will be compassionate, resilient, reliable and experienced in supporting individuals with mental health and complex support needs.
n
These roles offer ongoing weekly sleepover shifts, with the opportunity to become part of a secure, supportive and dedicated team.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS n
n
Ability to work sleepover shifts is essential
n
Australian resident with full working rights
n
Experience supporting participants with mental health diagnoses
n
Robust communication and documentation skills
n
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
n
Fluent English communication skills
n
HIGHLY REGARDED EXPERIENCE n
Experience supporting participants with:
n

Self-harm and suicide risk
n




Schizophrenia and complex mental health needs
n
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
n
Anxiety and emotional regulation
n
Medication assistance and medication management support
n
Diabetes support and diabetes training
n
Meal preparation and nutritional support
n
Restrictive Practices and compliance requirements
n
Positive Behaviour Support and behaviour support strategies
n
Crisis support, risk management and de-escalation
n
Person-centred support, while maintaining participant dignity, choice and independence
n
