An exciting opportunity exists for a person with suitable experience in property or commercial law looking to gain experience in Local Government. The Leasing Coordinator position is available on a full time basis for immediate start.

As the Leasing Coordinator you will be a people leader that provides expert strategic, policy and general legal information and support on a broad range of matters pertaining to managing Council's sport, recreation and community leasing portfolio. This portfolio comprises of nearly 200 diverse tenure arrangements and commercial agreements

You will be leading the collaboration with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including elected officials, community groups and sporting clubs, government agencies and Council staff.

You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic and operational management of Council's entire Community Leasing Framework. This includes the annual and long-term work planning, together with policy and strategy development and implementation. Your experience allows you to pivot with confidence, tailor your messaging and align to the needs of your audience, always seeking to deliver beneficial outcomes for the City of Logan.

This leadership role is part of the Sports & Community Infrastructure Branch who plan, deliver, maintain and facilitate the operation of sports and community facilities in Logan.

Position responsibilities include:

- Lead and coordinate provision of high-level information pertaining to state and federal legislation, and Council by-laws to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide high level negotiation, interpretation, and dispute resolution to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of appropriate precedents for leases and other relevant tenure.
- Lead the coordination of research and prepare complex advice and reports to the Branch Manager, Elected Members, and the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring accuracy of information regarding leasing and tenure arrangement.
- Lead the structure, negotiation, approval,



execution and ongoing governance of bespoke leases, licences, commercial and management agreements, memoranda of understanding, partnerships and other non-standard contractual arrangements.
- Educating, advising, and supporting sporting and community organisations regarding compliance of lease and other tenure terms and requirements.

Key indicators for success:

- Bachelor's degree qualifications or higher in Law is highly regarded.
- Significant proven experience in Property or Commercial law.
- Relevant local government experience is highly regarded.

Requirements:

To be considered for and employed in this position, applicants must satisfactorily complete the following pre-employment screening checks, as applicable:

- Work Rights
- Satisfactory references
- Possession of a current "C" class driver's licence.
- Practicing Certificate in accordance with the Legal Profession Act 2007 (Qld) or alternatively Justice of the Peace in Queensland, or ability to acquire JP accreditation within probation period.
