Senior Social Worker – Safeguards Team

About the role
This is your chance to build your clinical knowledge and capacity within child & adolescent mental health. You will be part of a dynamic, skilled and high performing team.
The Senior Social Worker for the Safeguards Team will provide specialist mental health assessments and needs driven psychological interventions for children and adolescents (0-17years) in acute mental health distress, as well as their carers.
This position forms part of a multi-disciplinary team including Psychiatrist, Psychiatry Registrar, Snr. Social Workers, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Snr. Psychologist, Snr. Occupational Therapist & Snr Aboriginal Mental Health Clinicians.
The service operates 7 days/week with extended hours on weekdays, and will respond to young people in their schools, home, communities & hospital-based settings (Paediatric Wards), through face to face, phone and telehealth appointments. This service is open to consumers across the WNSWLHD with care delivered on a hybrid model.
This position will be required to work a 7 day rotating roster with shifts being Monday – Friday (either hrs, hrs, hrs) and Saturday-Sunday hrs).
This Safeguards team is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally inclusive care. The team is community based and provides rapid, mobile and flexible care to resolve mental health distress and deliver assertive outreach, care coordination and time-limited therapeutic interventions across the district.
The Safeguards team provides specialist mental health services across the district with the team currently having staff in Dubbo, Bathurst, Orange, Mudgee & Parkes.
